FREE Independent Living Housing Sessions

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services’ (DBHDS) Division of Developmental Services invites you to attend an information session to learn more about the resources available to help people in the Settlement Agreement population access their own home in the community with appropriate supports.

Did you know that there are almost 600 people in the target population, who receive natural, Medicaid waiver and other supports that are living in their own home in the community. You can too! Please join us at the information session listed below to find out more about how to make this a reality for you.

Who is included in the Settlement Agreement Population? The Settlement Agreement target population for housing includes Virginians with developmental disabilities at least 18 years of age or older who are in one of the following categories:

• Living in a training center, intermediate care facility, skilled nursing facility and eligible for one of the Medicaid DD Waivers
• Receiving Medicaid DD Waiver services
• On a waitlist for Medicaid DD Waiver services If this sounds like you and you are interested in housing opportunities in the community, please join us for this information session!

This workshop will be offered WEEKLY March 3-April 7 in different locations around Virginia.

March 24: Clifton Forge Library, Clifton Forge, VA
March 31: Massanutten Regional Library, Harrisonburg, VA
April 7: Waynesboro Public LIbrary, Waynesboro, VA
