Outpatient therapy/individual coaching can be very effective for children, adolescents, and adults who have been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome.
Individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome/High-Functioning Autism can have difficulty with organizing emotions, sensory overload, social skills, communication, interpersonal relationships, stress management, and other important topics. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to help individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome regulate their emotions, decrease impulsivity, communicate more effectively, and improve their social interactions/behaviors as a result. In addition, some individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome/HFA struggle with fears, anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, or loneliness.
Cognitive behavior therapy has been shown to be beneficial for reducing anxious and/or depressive feelings.
